Abstract
This paper presents an algorithm for multi-objective simultaneous optimization of topology and shape of two dimensional framed structures. The computation process of the present method consists of two steps. First, the Pareto-optimal fronts for topology optimization are calculated by using genetic algorithm that was developed in our previous work. Secondly, the Pareto-optimal fronts for shape optimization are calculated from the Pareto-optimal solutions obtained above by using simulated annealing introduced the concept of a rank-based technique. The effectiveness of the present method concerning the convergence and diversity of the solutions was verified by the results of the numerical examples.
