Abstract
This paper investigates a possibility of the self-identification of adaptive structure systems using multiple variable structural parameters. A variable inertia and a variable stiffness systems are used to increase the amount of the vibration data that can be used for the identification of the unknown bending stiffness and mass property of the cantilevered beam. The experimental demonstrations are presented to show the feasibility of the proposed method. It is shown that the identifiability of the unknown parameters under the ill-conditioned problems are improved by changing the multiple parameters.
