321 Motion analysis of the chisel hitting with hammer during woodwork for an artisan

Abstract

Motion analysis in the producing process was performed in an artisan of woodwork using hammer and chisel to shave a zelkova. The joint angle of right elbow having hummer repeated flexion and extension within a certain angle. Furthermore, duration time and velocity of the first hitting were longer and slower than those of other hitting, respectively. These results suggest that an artisan carefully performed for the first hitting to shave a zelkova with taking a longer time.
