Abstract
Earthquake-proof measures in order to continue the function of medical facilities during and after an earthquake has been studied. The earthquake-proof performance of equipment in the medical facilities is not fully understood. Furthermore, practical methods of seismic countermeasures are not established. First of all, in order to verify the earthquake-proof performance of the medical equipment, the seismic experiments of the medical equipment by a medium-size shaking table were conducted. The seismic experiments clarified the earthquake-proof performance of the medical equipment and its behavior during earthquakes. Moreover, numerical models of the medical equipment were constructed based on the experimental results, and numerical analyses of its behavior were conducted.
