Abstract
To analyze the pressure distribution on engine main bearings, we developed a flexible multibody dynamics (FMBD) solver with a built-in elasto hydrodynamically lubrication (EHL) solver of engine main bearings. Furthermore, for the reduction of computational cost, we use the efficient component mode synthesis method that can consider both the entire deformation modes of cylinderblock and local deformation modes of the main bearings by several hundreds modes. It was applied to FMBD analysis of an in-line 4 cylinder engine under runnning conditions. Then, we confirm the availability and the advantage of the FMBD with EHL analysis of engine main bearings.
