Abstract
This paper deals with the influences of body stiffness on vehicle dynamics. The influence is investigated through the comparison of the theoretical model and experimental results. The theoretical model denotes 2D Vehicle model that takes two bending modes into consideration by experimental modal analysis. Beside, an experimental vehicle and a road simulator are built to observe the dynamical behavior of flexible vehicle. Then, we compared the dynamical behavior of the analytical model and the experimental vehicle to specify the influence of body stiffness on vehicle dynamics. The mechanism that the body stiffness influences on the vehicle dynamics is discussed.
