Abstract
An axle weighing system is equipment that measures each axle weight of an in-motion vehicle. Signal processing methods by designing a FIR filter for weight signals from the system have been studied to improve the accuracy of measured axle weights. A plan for determining the order of the filter and a reduced-order filter are newly proposed for preventing miscalculation of axle weights using the methods. The availability of the method adapting the new considerations are discussed and confirmed based on results obtained by processing actual weight signals.
