Abstract
In the research of the tone quality of a classic guitar, the control of the vibration modes on the surface board is important. It is necessary to combine the traditional trial and error approach with the engineering approach. Here are the some kinds of studies for stiffening rib layout on the sound board of the guitar. We need to get the impact volume of the guitar sound for the lower frequency zone and the rich quality of the sound for the higher frequency zone. We give the suitable distribution of stiffening rib layout density for the optimization of the guitar sound.
