Abstract
This paper deals with flexible rotor balancing methods. In addition to conventional modal balancing method using n or n+2 correction planes corresponding to n modes within operating speed range, we propose 2n correction planes using anisotropy of bearing stiffness for X and Y direction. And the new concept to evaluate balancing accuracy to direct comparison of unbalance distribution obtained by balancing calculation and given unbalance distribution. The proposed method was tested for model rotor having 5 correction planes. The results show the possibility to improve balancing accuracy using this method.
