Abstract
This work deals with the design of a dynamic absorber to quench the regenerative chatter in end milling process. By solving the eigenvalue problem of the dynamic milling model with a dynamic absorber, the stability of this system was investigated. It was made clear that by installing a dynamic absorber tuned to the proper natural frequency of a dynamic absorber and the proper damping of a dynamic absorber, the critical limiting depth of cut was improved in the wide range of spindle speed.
