Abstract
Synchronized vibration of lifts appears in cableway structures and has the possibility to lead to a serious accident. The purpose of this study is to analyze the vibration characteristics causing the synchronization. In this study, to construct a model of the coupled vibration of a rope and lifts, the rope was divided into multiple equivalent mass and spring elements and lifts were modeled as pendulums. Numerical analysis implies that energy of the system can concentrate in one of the lifts depending on initial phase conditions of the lifts and the vibration can become large.
