Abstract
Nonlinear behavior of pipe conveying fluid is significant in the field of engineering and industry. Curved pipe conveying fluid which is hanging horizontally and is supported at both ends is excited at fluid velocity having a small pulsating component. Under a frequency region of pulsating component, curved pipe behaves spatially. In this study, it is theoretically and experimentally clarified that the phenomena is caused from forced vibration at in-plane, and also from nonlinear coupling between the in-plane and out-of-plane motions.
