Abstract
This paper deals with the problem of vibration quenching using a Hula-Hoop. Quenching of perpendicular vibration is compared with that of horizontal one. Following was made clear from the numerical analysis: (1) The device using Hula-Hoop is very effective for not only horizontal vibration quenching but also perpendicular one in the region exceeding the resonant frequency. (2) Smaller damping of the hula-hoop is more effective in vibration quenching. (3) The Hula-Hoop without parametric excitation relation with the main system is more effective than the one with parametric excitation relation.
