Abstract
This paper describes the validations of a front-steering assist control for a motorcycle during steady-state circular turning. The rider-motorcycle system model includes nonlinearity of the tire forces to analyze the cornering characteristics of the motorcycle, and the controller of the assist control system with the front-steering torque is designed by using H_ control theory. The cornering characteristics and the driving stability of the rider-motorcycle system are investigated by the circular turning simulation.
