332 Generation of traveling wave for aquatic propulsion using flexible plate under unstable circumstances

Abstract

This study deals with the issue on active control of reflection waves to improve the efficiency of aquatic propulsion with an elastic plate. Especially, this study aims to generate the traveling wave under unstable circumstances. At first, active generation of traveling waves using velocity feedback control which detects the velocity on one end of a flexible plate was verified by numerical experiments based on a finite element model of a beam. The result shows the effectiveness of the method to various disturbances.
