Abstract
The aim of this study is the development of the neurosurgical training system with force feedback device based on finite element method. Not only visual view of the surgical scene similar to the surgical field but also tactile sensation due to intraoperative interaction between the brain tissue and the surgical instruments are successfully demonstrated. A useful function of the reaction force meter and zoom functions etc. was added to the training system. We are working to develop a new neurosurgical training system using static condensation technique. This system will have more detailed brain model and realize more high performance neurosurgical simulation.
