Abstract

In this paper, we analyzed the frequency characteristic of rail surface roughness data of the rail corrugation in detail measured in a few commercial lines of railway. At first, based on a result of the theoretical analysis that estimated of the rail corrugation, and based on the occurrence situation of the rail corrugation in the lines, we made the classification map of pattern formations of the rail corrugation. As a result of the analysis of rail surface roughness data in the lines, we confirmed a rail corrugation roughly corresponding to theoretical values of (1) interference of rail wave motion between the wheelbase of vehicle, (2) anti-resonance phenomenon at the elastic support in track system, and (3) anti-resonance phenomenon at the total system of track and vehicle.
