Abstract

To reduce the vibration of the vehicle trucks is very important, for the significant vibration may cause structural damage of frames, which sometimes leads to serious train accidents, such as derailment. Although the prediction of the truck vibration is especially important, the conventional analysis of using the transfer function determined by hammering test and running test is costly. This paper describes the analysis of predicting the truck vibration by FEM which can be done during the truck designing and manufacturing processes. It is cost-effective, as well.
