Abstract

Against a noise problem, it is important to comprehend the acoustic characteristics at a receiver position from the noise sources. The acoustic characteristics at a receiver position located in either an open or enclosed space can be represented as the product of the acoustic particle velocity on a noise source and the acoustic transfer function between a small region on the noise source and the receiver position. As we have proposed a new estimated method for acoustic transmission using a piezoelectric loudspeaker and acoustic particle velocity sensor, the frequency range was too narrow for practical use. For wider bandwidth of the method, a wideband noise from a monaural loudspeaker apply to measure the transfer functions. We carried out the test to the noise from a box within a loudspeaker, and evaluated the validity of the proposed method. This paper describes the fundamental principle to estimate the acoustic transmission characteristics and a result of a verification test. In these result, we demonstrate that this method is available in hundreds hertz and several kilohertz band.
