Consideration of Standing Wave and Traveling Wave Using Mode Coupling

Abstract

This paper describes a method for extracting the traveling waves that propagate in continuous bodies. The proposed method expresses the traveling waves using the superposition of the vibration modes of the continuous bodies. In addition, this paper describes a method to install arbitrary mechanical impedances at the boundaries of the partial structures using the substructure elimination method. In particular, the non-reflective boundary conditions for the one-dimensional and multi-dimensional acoustic fields, beam, and plate were given in this paper. The effectiveness of the proposed methods was verified through simulations.
