Abstract

This study analyzes the skill of world-class alpine ski-racer, for the skill improvement of Japanese alpine ski-racer. This research utilizes a 3D CAD model Matching Method to acquire analysis data of 3D motion by matching the skiracer’s 3D CAD model (based on Autodesk Inventor Professional 2016) to two-dimensional pictures which is extracted from sports video. This study analyzes the motion of racers of men’s giant slalom in 2017 world cup Kranjska Gora, and investigates the relationship between the skill performance and the physical characteristics of racers. The time rate in a turn motion of racers is analyzed and compared, which is defines as the percentage of time of four continuous motion in one turn. And also we analyze maximum lean angle and joint angles of lower extremity. The result of time rate indicates that the top rank racer shows the fastest edging start, and difference of the turn perhaps relate to difference of skill. The result of the analysis of the joint angles of lower extremity indicates that the shorter racer (1st rank racer) stretch between neutral position and edging start, but the taller racer (2nd rank racer) stretch between edging start and turn maximum. The results show the possibility that the skill of top rank racers are different because of the difference of physical characteristics.
