Abstract

Rubber crawlers are used in a combine harvester for paddy field in Japan to ensure running performance like traction on soft ground surface and to protect a pavement road. These crawlers have relatively high lugs, and when traveling on a paved road, the lug and road surface contact with each other and to generate vibration. The structure of crawler system is more complicated than that of tires, and the mechanism of running vibration generation is not solved enough. In this paper, exciting forces related to the lug is measured first, and clarify that inputs characteristic for the track rollers, sprocket, carrier roller, and idler. Second, transfer path analysis shows contribution of the input. In addition, generalized forces are inputted in a rigid two-degree-of-freedom model and reference vibration values are calculated.
