Abstract

One of the aerodynamic noises caused by the air flow is the edge tone generated when the airflow collides with an edge-shaped object and the airflow is separated at the edge portion. This edge tone is called a self-excited sound, and the self-excited mechanism is explained by a feedback mechanism. That is, by inducing a dipole sound source above and below the edge, a particle velocity perpendicular to the jet is generated on the jet axis, and the jet vibrates in the vertical direction. Although the existence of a dipole sound source has been confirmed, there is no study that quantitatively models it, and we will consider modeling it from the time-dependent changes in the distribution flow rate above and below the edge.
