Abstract

The vehicle dynamic performance of an automobile is greatly affected by the characteristics of a suspension system. In this study, a testing machine of a suspension with a 6-DOF motion system which reproduces the vehicle body movement is discussed. The dynamic characteristics of the motion system varies depending on the position and posture of the end effector and the applied force on it. The dynamic performance of the motion system was identified by the sweep excitation tests in this study, and the concept of the adaptive feed forward controller with considering the dynamic characteristics of the motion system was proposed.
