Abstract

Many people hope for the possibility of automated driving shuttles that provides convenient mobility services. Social implementation of the automated driving vehicle must require prior discussion of the safety and comfort of passengers. Active pitch control, called APC, is one of the methods for passengers to prevent falling over when braking or accelerating. Previous papers proposed the control system designs and showed the effectiveness of falling over prevention. However, the transient response of APC may affect the comfort of passengers. Therefore, this paper introduces a control method to improve the transient response of APC. Numerical simulation is performed to verify the effectiveness of the improved control method.
