Abstract

Noise control is one of the most important issues in various industries, and the quantitative evaluation of variations in acoustic properties is an essential issue for improving product quality. The quantitative evaluation of variations in acoustic properties is an essential issue for improving product quality. The foam-based sound-absorbing material used in this study is widely used as a sound-absorbing material. The microstructural variation of the foaming agent influences the variation in sound absorption coefficient. The microstructural variation of the foaming agent affects the variation in sound absorption coefficient. Monte Carlo simulation and experimental verification methods exist for predicting manufacturing variation, but these are expensive. However, the high cost of these methods is an issue. In this study, the homogenisation method is combined with a probabilistic approach. This study combines the homogenisation method with a probabilistic approach to predict the variation in acoustic properties of foam-based sound absorbers.
