Abstract

Tangent line method (TLM) is a loudspeaker array technique for generating arbitrary convex trajectories. In this study, TLM-based personal audio systems are experimentally investigated. Circular acoustic beams are delivered to a designated listening point. The examined array consists of 16 loudspeakers, and the array length is 0.75m. A random noise is reproduced by the loudspeaker array in an anechoic room. Spatial distributions of the SPL are measured. The experimental results show that the sounds can be confined at broadband frequencies.
