Abstract

Satellites play an important role in the space industry, and two issues have arisen. The first is that there are many technical hurdles for new entrants to the space industry. To address this issue, a reference model should be developed and made publicly available to stimulate the entry of private companies into the space industry and lead to the development of the space industry. The second issue is that satellites operate in space, making it difficult to monitor their status, and that failure diagnosis/operation has become a personal responsibility, leading to malfunctioning of the satellites. To address these issues, a digital twin method is considered effective, in which operating condition data obtained from the target machine is input into a model of the target machine, the optimal operating conditions at that point are obtained through simulation, and the operating conditions are then changed. In this study, the above efforts were made by modeling a satellite using the Modelica language, and effective results were obtained.
