Abstract

Bond graph is a modeling method that transfers two variables with one element and consequently energy because the product of the two variables is power, whereas a block diagram transfers one variable with one element. Here we show that Newton's laws of motion, momentum, and the power product, which are the fundamentals of physics, are translated as I-elements of a bond graph, and that the third law, the action-reaction law, can be represented by bond graphs models to enable visual understanding. The conservation of momentum law will be represented by bond graphs models and specific examples. The bond graphs model of collisions will be also considered..
