Abstract

In recent years, the use of driving simulators in automobile development is expected to reduce development time and costs. In this case, it is necessary to reproduce appropriate steering torque, and it is known that steering torque characteristics are affected by mechanical friction in various parts of the steering system. Therefore, it is necessary to reproduce the frictional phenomena correctly. However, because the frictional phenomena are complex, the time step width of the analysis must be small in order to perform accurate and stable analysis. In this study, the LuGre friction model was used to reproduce the friction elements in a steering model, and the friction phenomena were analyzed. It was confirmed that the generalized alpha method realized the analysis of the friction phenomena with high accuracy compared to the Runge-Kutta method.
