Abstract
User maintenance increases customer satisfaction and decreases total maintenance cost. Furthermore, appropriate maintenance work extends product life-cycle. Some products, however, are too much complicated for users to disassemble/assemble for maintenance work. Therefore, user maintenance support tool is very helpful in those cases. The paper describes a web-based fishing reel maintenance system to support user level maintenance. The system covers two phases of maintenance, or corrective maintenance and preventive maintenance, using intuitive manipulation on 3D objects.
