Abstract
For shorter development lead time, cost reduction and so on, set-based design paradigm is proposed and implementation perspective for realizing it is also presented. A standard technique in 3D-CAD system is parametric design. In this paper, the concept of set-based design is introduced to parametric design in 3D-CAD system. A multi-staged gearbox design is exemplified to illustrate the potentials of the proposed system.
