Abstract
Since a solid object is fabricated layer be layer in conventional stereolithography, a smooth curved surface without steps cannot be directly obtained. Recently, some non-laminating solid fabrication methods to solve such a problem have been investigated. This paper proposes to use holography to reproduce a three-dimensional solid image for stereolithography. By reproducing a three-dimensional solid image in a photopolymer resin instead of the air as in a conventional holography, the shape of the image should be photopolymerized and obtained as a fabricated real object. This paper is an intermediate report of the research and describes some results of basic experiments and computer generation of holography.
