Abstract
The importance of the role of verbs in the earlier stages of design is pointed out. There is a distinct difference between English and Japanese languages in the usage of verbs. To clarify a customer's requirements in terms of functions, behaviors should be clearly defined by verbs for a specific context. But Japanese use the same verb for different situations. To avoid such an ambiguity, videos and animations may be very useful for defining the behaviors clearly and for making clear the context.
