Abstract
Mesh-free methods are recosnized as a practical tool for structural analysis in case of severe deformation. However this method is more time consuming than conventional finite element method in calculation. In addition it is difficult to apply boundary condition directly to the mesh-free domain. In this paper an effort to overcome such weaknesses for the mesh-free method is introduced. Recently one of the mesh-free method "Element Free Galerkin" has been implemented in the crash and structural analysis code LS-DYNA and has been applied to plastic forming analysis. The example in this paper show good applicability of this new method comparing with conventional FEM.
