Abstract
The structure of a railway vehicle was designed from viewpoints of weight and margin of safety by using the new optimum structural design method that is using HyperSizer and NASTRAN. By this method, the form and material of structure of railway vehicle were investigated widely and the efficiency of a design process was increased.
