Abstract
This paper describes an acupuncture educational training system using virtual reality technology. Trainee practices acupuncture to a human acu-points model in the 3-D virtual environment. 3-D magnetometric sensor is used for positional detection of head and needle. The novel point of the system is not only visualizing invisible acu-points but also guiding trainee during training. Trainee gets his trial result of his acupuncture position and the correct depth information from the window in real time. As a result, trainee can learn where he should pierce the needle more easily than the current training. Thus, an acupuncture educational training system provides more clearly and effective learning for acupuncture.
