Abstract
This paper presents an advanced multi-step optimal design method using function oriented elements for the development of the development of the leaning spring for artificial satellite. For the sake of the efficient design, the appropriate methodology must be selected in each design phase. In this research, the topology optimization method and the shape optimization method are used in the conceptual design phase and the detailed design phase respectively. Frame elements are used for both phases as the function oriented element. In addition, the numerical example of based on the actual analysis model of leaning spring part are provided to show the utility of the methodology presented here.
