Abstract
In product development, a product plan is considered before conceptual design. The decision-making in the planning phase is performed by collaborative work of marketing, financing, and technology divisions. Decisions in the product planning phase are used as constrains of the following conceptual design. As a result, the product planning plays a highly important role to determine the direction of product development. In this study, we investigate actual product planning processes and consider how to improve the reliability of product planes. We will show a framework for visualizing the justification and risks for decision-making in the product planning phase.
