Abstract
In this research, we introduce a novel method to analyze the axial compression analysis of thin circular shell structures. employing a new analysis framework, called isogeometric analysis, which is based on NURBS surfaces We generate the thin circular shell structures by first designing the profile curve with prescribed positions, normals and curvatures at a number of points using the geometric interpolation algorithm, then generating the NURBS surface by revolving the profile curve.
