Abstract
This paper discusses on the design issues in an autonomous snow eater robot. Our design purpose is a small and light mechanism for the robot, which helps the snow removing task in residences of snowy areas. Based on the performance evaluation in the prototype robot, screw layout in the sweeper mechanism is modified with the purpose of a low snow pressure during the snow removal task. A height control unit for the screw shaft position is additionally developed in order for the altitude control on the snow covered ground. Improvements in the modified mechanism are shown by drawings and pictures.
