Abstract
Wire Harness for an automobile is performed assembly work on the assembly jig board by placed Jigs. The layout design changes working times by Jig layout, because it is difficult to make Wire Harness when be close each wire. Therefore, in order to solve difficult working, the goal is to pursue optimal Jig layout of minimum working time. We discuss the modeling of assembly Jig board and formulation. Then, we consider the layout optimization method on a genetic algorithm and the Jig layout design of minimum working time of Wire Harness. After that, we pursue optimal assembly work procedure on the optimal placed assembly jig board. The goal of this problem is to minimize the assembly work distance. We use the travelling salesman problem to solve the problem. Finally, we apply the Jig layout problem of actual Wire Harness and confirm availability of the proposed method. The computational results show that the proposed method is very effective on a set of the Jig layout problem and the assembly work procedure problem for actual Wire Harness.
