Abstract

This paper describes the consideration of strategy for a securement of diversity with the various forms generated by Additive Manufacturing to system for deriving diverse solutions. Concretely, an Evolutionary Optimization Method and an Optimality Criteria Method which both modifies the forms by increasing and decreasing elements are compared in the perspective of diversity retention. The two requirements of diversity retention are derived; ‘keeping the form characteristics of solution candidates’ and ‘researching solutions from global space’. As a strategy for these, ‘increasing and decreasing only surface elements’ and ‘including local evaluation without design objective function’ are shown for diversity retention.
