The importance of service industries becomes large especially in advanced nations since an economic activity shifts to service industries. However, as compared with manufacturing industries or overseas service industries, the productivity and growth rate of the service industries in Japan are still low. Under the circumstances, Service Engineering has been proposed. The objective of this study is improving the productivity of food service industries by proposition of a staff shift scheduling method considering constraints of allocating plural jobs. The proposed method is based on combinatorial auction and aims at improvement of employee, consumer and manager satisfactions, so that the proposed method can deal with two parts of staff shift scheduling at the same time: determination of date and time when each employee works and allocation of jobs which each employee has charge of. The effectiveness of the proposed method is discussed with the results of computer experiments.
