Time Axis Design of the Value Growth Mobility System with the Value Occurrence-Growth Model

Abstract

This paper describes the Time Axis Design of the Value Growth Mobility System with the Value Occurrence-Growth Model. Time Axis Design is a concept incorporating the viewpoint of time into the theory and methodology of design. The perspective of Time Axis Design enables to deal with environmental problems caused by mass production and mass consumption society, and bad trends such as young people turning away from driving because of the change of values. Therefore, a model which describes the mechanism of the value’s occurrence and growth is proposed. The proposed model describes the user’s values reasoned inductively from user’s context and user’s value deductively reasoned from user’s values and the products meaning. By designing based on the proposed model, enables the user to feel new value as the time passes. Finally, the proposed model’s usefulness in design is demonstrated by applying it to the design case of the mobility system.
