Abstract

Propagation speed of information on a cellular automata system is argued and it brings into a proposition of new object design for the system, which is a building block of a morphogenesis system based on emergence property and is coded with Java language. Cellular automata yields complex and unexpected productions by simple rule(s), hence it is regarded as a typical methodology of computational emergence. It has, however, very limited propagation speed of information and the limitation spoils global consistency; poor convergence of filed, stuck at a false state and so on. The author proposed a multi-level grid approach for the cellular automata system in a past article, and showed significant improvement in simple geometries. While in complex geometries, it was also shown that the approach didn't perform as expected. This article argues the reason and necessary changes of object definitions, which keeps simplicity of cellular automata besides improves the propagation property.
