Abstract

Finite Element Analysis (FEA) has been widely used for evaluating the performance of products in design field. Industrial motors, generators and transformers consist of stacking thin electromagnetic steel plates to reduce eddy-current losses. Therefore, each steel plate is much smaller than the equipment itself and it’s necessary to simply model those steel plates as a single material with anisotropic property. For obtaining accurate analysis results, we need to set appropriate values for these material constants. In this study, we propose a solution to material constants identification problems based on natural frequencies. The proposed method is incorporated Newton’s method based on Adjoint variable method in Multi-Objective Surrogate Optimization’ flow. The results of numerical experiments showed that the proposed method stably obtained high accurate solution, utilizing the characteristics of these two methods.
