Abstract
The earthquake load acting on the equipments of an elevator has been considered in the case of intensity calculation. However, when the resonance phenomenon is occurred to an elevator cage and counter-weight hang by wire ropes, the earthquake load acting on the equipments has not been clarified. In this study, we investigated the earthquake load, through simulation analysis for a dynamic model of an elevator. This paper describes analysis method and the simulation results of the earthquake load. As the results, the earthquake load can reach about 30% of static load at the maximum.
