Abstract
This paper proposes a new method of traffic calculation in a pattern of several floors. A conventional method is aimed to morning up-peak traffic, but is not effective in other traffic patterns, for example lunch time traffic pattern. In recent, flexible-work system gets so popular that other hours including lunch time is more congested than morning peak time. The proposed method makes a round trip time (RTT) equation including number of passengers per unit time. The equation describes a relation between number of riding passengers and average waiting time. If number of riding passenger in one way is over 80% of car capacity, a plan may be invalid. In addition, this paper mentions a method of traffic calculation in any OD (origin and destination) traffic pattern between several zones. It can describe complicated traffic, so is effective in hospital traffic pattern. We tested the proposed method by comparison with results of elevator group control simulation. Experimental results show that the method can evaluate a pattern of several riding floors in 60-100% passenger rate.
