Abstract
We measured the cycle performance of vapor compression refrigerating system using R417A (R134a/125/600,50/46.5/3.5 mass%) as a drop-in refrigerant for an equipment of 30.2kW with R22 specification. Setting temperature in the freezing compartment was set at-30℃. Although cooling capacity of R417A was smaller than that of R22 by 24%, there is an advantage in using R417A such as that the pressure at compressor inlet is too low. We discussed further about alternative refrigerants which have better characteristics for a refrigeration-cycle system.
